Pastor Gunter was a true Man of God and I will be forever grateful for the chance to get to know him and call him my friend. No matter what he was going through, he Praised God and made me realize that no matter what we face here on earth, if we just hold on and endure the journey, our true home forever is with our Lord and Savior in heaven. The last time I met with him, I told him I would see him on the other side and he said he would be waiting with anticipation. What a dear sweet spirit he had about him and he will be missed by many but we can rejoice in knowing that he is home at last which is where he longed to be. My prayers for his family and friends are that they would receive the Peace and Comfort that could only come from God. I love you Brother Gunter.

HOW TIME FLIES

Good morning everyone! I can't believe that today is September 3 already! It seems like we were just getting excited about school letting out for the summer. Our three older grandsons, Collin, Kyle and Cody have returned to school and, so far, they seem to enjoy it. Collin is now in 7th grade, Kyle is in 5th grade and Cody is in 1st. grade. They are growing up so fast, I can hardly believe it.

Maybe now that they are back in school, I will be able to get some crafting done. I always have good intentions of doing so,but, life seems to get in the way most of the time. I have not even had a chance to use my new cricut machine and I am dying to do so. Hopefully, this weekend, I will be able to make that happen.

CONFIRMATION! PARKINSONS DISEASE

My husband had his appointment with his neurologist today and the DAT Scan on his brain confirmed Parkinson's Disease. They are trying him on some meds that will increase in strength over three weeks and then if that does not help the tremors, they will try Botox injections into the muscles that are affected. If that then does not help they will proceed with deep brain stimulation with a pacemaker. Please keep him and our family in your prayers.

My Cricut finally arrived in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to start playing with it later today. My husband said, "that is what you were so excited about getting?" I said, "Absolutely" and he said "to each his own, I guess". They just don't understand, do they?

So, I just got called for a job interview with a bank that I applied to for a part-time position I applied for. I have been looking for something part-time to cover the cost of my hobbies, scrapbooking and sewing.and just recently got interested in quilting. I hope this works out so that I can still be home to help Mike with the boys before and after school.

Home Made Zuppa Toscano Soup

So , I tried my hand at Olive Garden's Zuppa Tuscano Soup last night for dinner and it was fantastic. It was really easy to make and it was a hit with most of the family! You know how picky some kids are.

This is the recipe I used:

Ingredients

1 lb. Italian sausage ( I like mild sausage )
2 large russet baking potatoes, sliced in half, and then in 1/4 inch slices
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 can Oscar Meyer bacon bits
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups kale or 2 cups swiss chard,chopped ( I used kale )
2 cans chicken broth
1 quart water 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Directions

1. Cook sausage in a 300 degree oven for approximately 30 minutes
2. Drain sausages on paper towels and cut into slices.
3. Place onions, potatoes, chicken broth, water, and garlic in pot and cook on medium heat until potatoes are done.
4. Add sausage and bacon.
5. Salt and pepper to taste.
6. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
7. Turn to low heat.
8. Add kale and cream.
9. Heat through and serve.

Woke up this morning with a really bad headache and couldn't get up without feeling like I was going to get sick and pass out. Took some meds and seems to be easing some. I don't understand why I am having such a problem with this lately. I just hope it is nothing serious. If you are a praying person, please pray that it isn't. Hope this finds you all well and I will be getting back into crafting soon.

I won the bid on a Cricut Create on E Bay Saturday for $39.99. What a bargain. Can't wait to actually receive it in the mail so I can start playing with it. I also won a couple cartridges so I can start playing as soon as I get it. Will post some pictures of my projects.

Had to give up my Consultant position with Close To My Heart

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I last posted anything here. We have been busy with the grandkids being home from school and life in general. Mike and I just got home from a 9 day trip to Cincinnati to visit with family and reunite with some old fiends. Had a wonderful time but we were glad to get back home. I am looking forward to our next trip which is a Cruise to the Bahamas in August. Neither Mike nor I have ever been on a cruise so it should be quite an adventure for us.

Now, as far as crafting goes, I haven't had the time to get much done but after we get home from the cruise, I plan on getting back into the groove.
Unfortunately, I am no longer a consultant with Close to My Heart. I still plan on
buying product from them but I could not generate enough sales to maintain my consultant status. So, now I am waiting patiently for the new Idea Book to come out on August 1st. to see what amazing new products they come out with.

Vacation Bible School at Lakeside

Well,our week of Vacation Bible School at church is now over. We did not get as many kids as we would have liked but it was a success for the ones that were there. The theme was Son Quest Rainforest. Rhonda and a few of the other people drew,cut out and painted scenery backdrops and animals seen in the rainforest. The church looked amazing. We had videos, stories, songs and dance,snacks and games that tied in to whatever the message was for that day. The kids had a blast. Three of my grandsons attended for the first time. They have all decided to go to church with me now. I am so very happy about that. I feel blessed to have been a part of the whole thing but I am happiest that I was able to encourage my grandsons to go.

Cruisin' in August

So,my awesome daughter and son-in-law booked a cruise to the Bahamas for my husband and myself. We are going at the end of August. Neither one of us have ever gone and have always wanted to. Had a wonderful vacation visiting friends and family in Cincinnati. Missed the boys while we were gone though. We are going to try and visit again in August. Hope that it works out. Now, back to the real world and day to day happenings. Was glad to back to church on Wednesday night. Missed my church family as well. Hoping to get some crafting done this weekend. It seems like I always make plans for it, but, then, life gets in the way. Hoping you are all welland wishing you a great weekend for yourselvess.

Heard a great word at church this morning. Many of us know that God has placed a call to ministry of one type or another on us but we have failed to step out in that and just do it. Maybe it is because we are fighting a spiritual war within ourselves. We need to win the battle within ourselves first before moving on.The next hurdle may be dealing with the confinement of all the others around us or the expectation of others on us. The only one we need to please is God himself and not worry about what others expectations of us are. If God finds us ready for whatever ministry we are called to, he will open the door for us. Once we are in the place to go forth with that ministry, do not back away in astonishment or disbelief.

I don't know if I conveyed what this means so that you can understand it, but it spoke directly to my heart for the Faithbooking ministry we have started at church. At the beginning, I wanted to start each meeting with a short Bible Study or devotional, but, because of the light response and my own fears I have not done that yet. I was asked by one of my blog followers if we were doing this and then, that was the message we heard today. To me, that is a direct word from God that I need to step out of my comfort zone and get on with it. Thank you, Lord, for not letting me become stagnant or complacent and pushing me to become the woman of God you want me to be.

This is the latest Faithbooking layout I finished. I was asked to be a guest designer for this verse on www.faithfullyyours.net. I just submitted the layout this morning and have not had any response yet. I am kind of anxious to see if they liked enough to use it. If they do, it will a part of the e-zine they send out. Yesterday, I attended a celebration of life service for my Pastor's Mom. I can truly say that it was one of the sweetest, heartfelt and Holy Spirit filled services I have ever attended. God's peace, comfort and strength exuded from Pastor Mike as he spoke about his Mom. I did not have the privilege of meeting his Mom, but, from the words of those who knew her, she was a sweet, sweet child of God and was forever faithful to serving him. I am sure that she is delighting in being with her Lord and Savior and is free from pain and suffering for evermore. Until we all meet again.

This is a Wall Organizer I sewed for my grandson for his 12th. Birthday. He reads all the time and now he has a place to keep his new Kindle which he also got for his birthday along with other things he likes to keep handy, like his drawing books that his other Grandma got him for his birthday. He is quite the litlle artist and very creative. He also got a new bike to replace the bike that was stolen on our trip across country as we were moving to North Carolina.

No school for the kids today so I did not get any projects done today. I did manage to cut some fabric for a project I am working on for my grandson's birthday on Wednesday. I plan on putting that together tomorrow. The kids will be home again but I will be more prepared for them being home tomorrow. I made my first batch of Snow Cream today. It was delicious! I had never heard of it before, but, some friends of mine from church were talking about it on Facebook so I looked it up and found an easy recipe for it. I was surprised that it tasted just like Ice Cream!

Church tonight at 7:00

A church is just a building for some people. A building where hypocritical people gather to check off their visit for the week. They go to say that they were there. They leave the same...unchallenged...bored...unmoved...and certainly untouched by the Presence of a Holy and Loving God. Church doesn't mean anything to a lot of people.

But to me...it is so much more.
I can't imagine not wanting to go.

My church is so dear to me. It is the place where God is waiting to reign down upon us. Where He speaks through His Word. Where He challenges how I think, how I act, and convicts me of sin. A place where hugs abound from people who pray for you. An open altar to ask for help, repentance, and intercede for myself and so many others who are hurting. My church is an extension of my family. It is grace-filled and full of people who are at best pathetic without the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.

Where did this year go?

I woke up this morning and realized that this is the last month of 2010. Where did this year go? Life seems to be moving at lightning speed these days. It is hard for me to comprehend that there are only 24 days until Christmas. I am not even close to being ready. We have the decorating finished but that is just about all we have done. We need to get busy and finish our shopping and baking and wrapping and shipping. Wow! I get tired just thinking about it.

I hope everyone is ready for this hectic but joyful time of year. I pray that each and everyone of you remember the reason for the season is Jesus and give him all the praise and glory in all things. Please join me in spreading the word so that everyone will remember to keep Christ is Christmas

Inside out Ladies/Lakeside Church of God

The EZ Invite Manager will make it easy for you to send personalized, professional looking invitations, reminder messages and thank-you notes to your virtual guests. You can also track the total of orders placed, and add/remove guests from the system at any time. As a consultant, I cannot access your EZ Invite Manager, so you can rest assured that your guest's contact information as entered to this system is not shared with me. Only when an order is placed is the information transferred to my database.

Orders placed via the Online Gathering system are processed and shipped as they are received. This means that your guests do not have to wait until sometime after the closing date to receive their product. This is good news for them! This is good news for you too - because regardless of when the order is placed, it will still count towards your qualifying totals for Hostess Rewards!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. We enjoyed the day at home with the kids and went out for dinner. I am truly thankful for the many blessings that God his given to me but most of all I am thankful that he is my Lord and Savior and I will praise him in all things and at all times.
